Getting a handle

Turnstyle Designs continue to bring to the market new ranges of handles and cabinet pulls. The Scallop Square range and The Leather Composite range are the latest offerings. The Scallop Square leather cabinet pulls are part of the hand-stitched Saville range and come in three sizes 87mm, 66mm and 53mm. These are available in seven vegetable tanned bridle leathers. This range is made to order by a team of in-house saddlers and harness makers.

The Leather Composite range is a blend of the Leather range and the Composite range. These hand-stitched pieces are not practical to make on a production level, casting them using a silicone mould is the best option. "The level of detail from the silicone mould is incredible, every crease in the leather and detail of the stitch is crystal clear to a point where one cannot tell if it is real leather or not …the brain is even tricked into believing the product is soft like leather," explains Melanie Cotterill from Turnstyle Designs. This product is available in mocha and espresso finishes and could be a sensible option for owners and designers who prefer not to use real leather.
